This article is about the already removed Hunger Games Mode.

Overview[]

The Hunger Games Mode was a game-mode that could be accessed by switching to HG mode on the game menu. It was very similar, gameplay-wise, to the normal game, but the server was only open for the first 10 minutes, and upon death, players get eliminated and must wait for the next round. After 45 minutes has passed in a Hunger Games server, resources and animals would stop spawning (including ground resources), and the bread market was disabled. This was indicated by the message "They are no more new resources" appearing on-screen. The objective of the game was to be the only player left. If the server was closed, players can still join, but only as a spectator.

Back then, HG had two servers: one in North America and one in Europe. An additional Asian server was planned, but never released.

Hunger Games is no longer a playable mode since 4th July (Legacy Update).

Spectators[]

SpectatorHG

Handy Dandy Spectator

Spectators spawn with the Explorer's Hat. They were, by default, invisible to other players, unless if they have pressed P, which shows spectators. Spectators could be killed by normal players, mobs (by moving with them purposefully), fires, and spikes. Spectators could not choose their username (it will always be "spectator"), but they could still choose their skin. A spectator's cold, oxygen and thirst bar would never decrease, but their hunger bar could decrease (consider it your time limit) this was so the server wouldn't get filled, so they added this so the there's a way to cycle spectators in and out. Spectators could not hit anything, so they could not gather materials, damage structures or mobs. They could also pass through resource nodes and structures.

Game End[]

Hunger games would continue indefinitely until one person remains.
