Swords

Overview

The sword is a short-range weapon used to kill or deal damage to other players and mobs. There are eight variants of swords: the wooden sword, stone sword, golden sword, diamond sword, amethyst sword, dragon sword, reidite sword and lava sword. Swords have a smaller range but deal more damage than spears. Additionally, when holding a sword, one's movement speed is substantially decreased. Like other weapons, swords cannot be unequipped immediately after equipping. The player must first wait for several seconds, as shown by a circular timer at the bottom left of the screen. Swords can attack at 2 hits per second.

Tips

For newly spawned players, it is recommended to craft at least a stone sword to defend themselves and their bases; a stone sword deals enough damage to quickly hunt rabbits and provide protection against wolves and spiders. A stone sword can be upgraded to a golden sword, which in turn can be upgraded to a diamond sword, followed by an amethyst sword. With a diamond or amethyst sword, players can kill others easily. Note that some players may see an exposed sword as a challenge or a threat. Therefore, make sure to unequip your sword when approaching another player.

Wooden Sword

The Wooden Sword is in the lowest tier of swords, dealing the lowest damage to both mobs and buildings.

Made out of 30 pieces of wood, it only deals 12 damage and 4 building damage. It is not effective in dealing with early game mobs, such as wolves and spiders. As such, it is recommended that the player upgrades it to a stone sword as soon as possible.

It does not need a workbench to be crafted.

Stone Sword

The Stone Sword is in the second tier of swords. It deals a considerable amount of damage, easily killing early game mobs like wolves and spiders.

Made out of 50 wood, 25 stone and 1 wooden sword, it deals 19 damage and 6 building damage.

It needs a workbench in order to be crafted.

Golden Sword

The Golden Sword is in the third tier of swords, providing good damage against early game mobs, but is not very effective against middle game mobs, like arctic foxes and polar bears.

Made out of 60 wood, 50 stone, 40 gold and 1 stone sword, it deals 22 damage and 7 building damage.

It needs a workbench in order to be crafted.

Pirate Sword

The Pirate Sword is in the fourth tier of swords. Having the same amount of damage as a diamond sword, it provides good damage against middle game mobs, like arctic foxes and polar bears. It has a better range than a normal sword, but less than a spear.

Obtained by killing other players that have it or by opening a treasure chest, it deals 24 damage and 8 building damage.

Diamond Sword

The Diamond Sword is also in the fourth tier of swords. Having the same amount of damage as a pirate sword, it provides good damage against middle game mobs, like arctic foxes and polar bears.

Made out of 80 stone, 60 gold, 40 diamond and 1 golden sword, it deals 24 damage and 8 building damage.

It needs a workbench in order to be crafted.

Amethyst Sword

The Amethyst Sword is in the fifth tier of swords, being the third most powerful sword in the game. It deals a good amount of damage against middle game mobs, like arctic foxes and polar bears, killing said mobs with ease.

To survive the long crafting of this sword, make sure that you have a book in your hand. Otherwise, you may be very hungry, thirsty or even dead.

Made out of 100 gold, 60 diamond, 40 amethyst and 1 diamond sword, it deals 27 damage and 9 building damage.

It needs a workbench in order to be crafted.

Reidite Sword

The Reidite Sword is an end game sword, wielded only by those who have accomplished the difficult task of reaching the lava biome. It is in the sixth tier of swords and is the second most powerful sword in the game along with the dragon sword, losing only to the lava sword. It can kill pretty much any middle game mob with ease and has little problem in dealing with end game mobs, such as bosses.

To survive the long crafting of this sword, make sure that you have a book in your hand. Otherwise, you may be very hungry, thirsty or even dead. If you want to craft this item while in the lava biome, you should first apply ice until your heat is low; otherwise you will take damage from overhearing.

Made out of 100 diamond, 80 amethyst, 40 reidite and 1 amethyst sword, it deals 30 damage and 10 building damage.

It needs a workbench in order to be crafted.

Dragon Sword

The Dragon Sword is a middle game sword, wielded only by those who have accomplished the relatively difficult task of killing three dragons, with at least one in a period of six days from the start of the game. It is in the sixth tier of swords, and is the second most powerful sword in the game, tied with the reidite sword. It can kill pretty much any middle game mob with ease, having little problem with end game mobs, like bosses. In conjunction with a Dragon Helmet, the dragon sword deals 3 extra damage, making it as powerful as a Lava Sword. It is unknown whether a Lava Helmet has this effect.

To survive the long crafting of this sword, make sure that you have a book in your hand. Otherwise, you may be very hungry, thirsty or even dead.

Made out of 20 blue thread, 150 amethyst, 3 dragon hearts and 1 blue orb, it deals 30 damage and 10 building damage.

It needs a workbench, a fire source and a water source in order to be crafted.

Lava Sword

The Lava Sword is an end game sword, wielded only by those who have proven themselves worthy by killing both the dragon in less than six days as well as the lava dragon in less than ten days, and in addition to that, gathering all the other rare resources needed to create it. Being in the seventh tier of swords, and also the most powerful of them all, it can kill almost any mob with ease. Despite the possibility of problems in killing bosses, combined with proper strategy they can be killed quickly and efficiently in the best of scenarios. The Lava Sword deals even more damage in conjunction with a Lava Helmet.

To survive the long crafting of this sword, make sure that you have a book in your hand. Otherwise, you may be very hungry, thirsty or even dead.

Made out of 150 reidite, 2 lava hearts, 1 lava orb and 1 dragon sword, it deals 33 damage and 11 building damage, the highest of any sword in the game.

It needs a workbench, a fire source and a water source in order to be crafted.
